Welcome to Finley’s personal page!
My name is Fandi Gou (苟凡棣), I was born in Sichuan Chengdu, China, in Mar 2001. Currently I am a third-year Ph.D. student at School of Automation and Intelligent Sensing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, major in Control Science and Engineering. I graduated as Shanghai Municipal Outstanding Graduate (top 5% of graduates) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Jun 2023 with a B.E. degree from the Department of Automation, SEIEE school. Prior to that, I graduated from Chengdu No.7 High School with honor.
I have received the National Scholarship twice (in 2022 and 2025), a prestigious award granted to the top 0.2% of students nationwide, and the SJTU A-Grade Merit Scholarship (2020). Beyond academics, my contributions to the student community have been acknowledged through the Outstanding Student Cadre and Merit Student honors. I was selected as the Student Representative to address the assembly at the 65th Anniversary Celebration of the Department of Automation, and now I am the Chair of CAA-SJTU Student Branch.
My research focuses on developing efficient and reliable solutions for Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). I have widely investigated cooperative and competitive tasks including encirclement control, formation control, navigation, three-party confrontation, and coverage control–by integrating Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) or traditional methods. I am particularly interested in addressing challenges in MAS like limited communication and agent safety by incorporating Graph Neural Networks and Safe DRL techniques.
Looking forward, I aim to enhance the Sample Efficiency of RL algorithms by leveraging control-theoretic Guide Policy, and construct a rigorous mathematical framework that bridges reinforcement learning and control theory from a novel perspective.
